Lock in Utah’s Future Leaders & Problem Solvers
Lock in Education.
Strong schools build strong communities — and every student deserves a chance to thrive.
Education isn’t just policy for Jeneanne—it’s personal. With a bachelor’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), a California teaching credential, and years of experience as a classroom teacher, children’s librarian, and parent, she has seen education from every angle. She knows what works: well-supported teachers, adequately funded schools, and a commitment to meeting every student where they are.
District 21 is home to some of the most diverse schools in Utah, where students speak dozens of languages and bring rich cultural backgrounds into the classroom. That diversity is a strength—but it requires resources, training, and thoughtful policy to ensure no student is overlooked.
In the legislature, Jeneanne will champion:
Increased per-pupil funding to bring Utah—which consistently ranks among the lowest states in per-student spending—closer to the national average. Our children deserve better.
Fair compensation for teachers and school staff to attract and retain the talented educators our schools need, especially in high-need areas like the Westside.
Robust English Language Learner (ELL) programs that honor students’ home languages while providing the support they need to succeed academically.
Expanded access to school counselors, social workers, and mental health professionals so students have the support they need beyond academics.
Protecting public education funding from diversion to unaccountable voucher programs that weaken neighborhood schools.
Career and technical education pathways that prepare students for high-demand careers in Utah’s growing economy — from healthcare to technology to the skilled trades.
Jeneanne’s experience in the classroom and the library taught her that every child is capable of remarkable things when given the right support. She’ll carry that belief to the Capitol.
